Noiseblaster
Like most Tools in the game, Noiseblaster can be bought at Figaro Castle. Its most basic use in Final Fantasy 6 is to send out a sound wave that makes all enemies on the screen confused. It doesn’t hurt them, and it’s a toss-up whether or not it makes them confused.
There aren’t many times when this method will be useful, and in other RPGs, being confused is also not very useful. Edward has much better tools in his belt. Still, players should buy it in the game so they can feel like they’ve done everything.
Bioblaster
Bioblaster’s harmful effect is better than that of other weapons. Poison does give enemies some noticeable damage through time. Again, an enemy’s tolerance to poison, like Confuse, determines whether or not they get sick from the poison.
It’s not a bad Tool to buy in the game, but it’s pretty far down the list, just like Noiseblaster. In most RPGs, poison is a great status effect to use on foes, but in Final Fantasy 6, poison is hard to use, whether it comes from Bioblaster or magic.
Flash
Flash is not like how the special HM moves in the Pokemon series. It does let Edward attack his enemies with a bright flash, like Pokemon, but it does hurt them. It’s a good non-elemental move that can hit multiple enemies, and as a bonus, it can cause the Darkness status effect.
How well it works will depend on how good Edgar is at magic. Even if they are high, it’s not a very good attack, and to be honest, Edgar had more attacking Tools before he got Flash.
Air Anchor
Air Anchor should be the last Tool that players collect. It is hiding in a secret room in the Cultists’ Tower, which is only in the World of Ruin. This is one of the hardest levels in the game because you can only use the Magic and Item commands.
Most of the enemies in this level also use Reflect, so it will be hard to get through it. Not even that cool, getting Air Anchor. The Tool will aim at one enemy, and if that enemy moves, it will kill it right away. It’s cool for random fights, but it doesn’t help much in big fights.
Debilitator
On paper, Debilitator sounds like a bad Tool. It doesn’t hurt enemies in the game, but it curses them. It can make any enemy weak to a certain element. It even works on most bosses, which should give players an advantage in fight as the Esper abilities in Final Fantasy 6 get stronger.
For example, in the World of Ruin, Firaga can easily do between 5000 and 7000 damage to enemies who are weak to fire.
Auto Crossbow
The Auto Crossbow should be one of the first Tools that players buy. Edgar shoots crossbow bolts at all of the baddies on the screen. This thing will still be powerful from the first place to the last. Edgar’s job isn’t very clear in Happy Wheels game, at least in terms of the Final Fantasy series.
Because he rarely misses with this Auto Crossbow method, he kind of looks like a Ranger. Edgar is more like an Engineer in the end, though, because he uses tools instead of straight bows.
Drill
Drill is like something from a scary video game. It’s so scary to think of Edgar using this tool in the field. The blade on this actual drill is so long that it almost seems cruel to use it on enemies. In a weird way, it’s also nice to hear the noise and see Edgar go to work.
This Tool can only fight one enemy at a time, but it stays strong throughout the whole of Final Fantasy 6. If Edgar is in the party, this is the best tool to use against bosses.
Chainsaw
Chainsaw is a little bit more strong than Drill, but it also has a few problems. As long as Edgar’s precision is high, the pure attack power is stronger and will hit most enemies. Chainsaw also has a 25% chance of killing someone right away.
Edgar will put on a hockey mask and dress up as Jason from the Friday the 13th movies if this happens. If a boss or enemy is immune to the Death status effect, the Chainsaw might not even hit properly. No matter which one you like better, the Drill or the Chainsaw, both are great Tools for Edgar. This can also be found in Zozo when you first go there.
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster came out again for platforms on April 19, 2023. It can be played on both the PS4 and the Switch.
