- John PrideauxUS editorJohn Prideaux is the US editor, having joined The Economist as a political correspondent in 2004. Prior to this he contributed to The Economist, Financial Times and New Statesman, and worked as a researcher in the House of Commons and the European Parliament. His career at the paper includes Washington correspondent, Brazil correspondent in São Paulo, home-page editor of Economist.com and head of podcasting. Mr Prideaux regularly appears as a commentator in the media, notably BBC, CNN, Fox News and NPR. He was educated at Cambridge University and the Sorbonne.
- Charlotte HowardExecutive editorCharlotte Howard is the executive editor and New York bureau chief, as well as the co-host of the Checks and Balance podcast. Prior to this, she served as The Economist's Energy editor, writing about the global energy sector and climate policy. In other beats she has covered consumer goods and retail, the global health-care industry and politics and policy in America’s Midwest. She joined The Economist in 2004 and is a graduate of Yale University.
- Adam O’NealWashington correspondentAdam O’Neal is the Washington correspondent for The Economist. Prior to joining the newspaper in September 2023, he was executive editor of the Dispatch. He spent most of his career at the Wall Street Journal as an editorial page writer in London and an assistant editorial features editor in New York. He also has worked as a radio producer in Los Angeles and Vatican reporter in Rome.

Based in Los Angeles, she covers politics, society and the environment all around California and the American West. Prior to this she was Mountain West correspondent in Denver. Aryn joined The Economist as a social-media fellow in 2017, after which she worked across several digital teams. She studied history at the University of Illinois, and journalism at Northwestern University.

Can I watch subscriber events with closed captions?
During the live event participants have the option to enable automated closed captions. Please note the captions are automated and so not verified by The Economist.
How do I submit a question for an upcoming subscriber event?
Visit the events hub and click on the page for the upcoming event. On this page you will see a section where you can submit your question. You can also use the same Q&A tool to submit your questions during the live event.
